The Keystone Top 5: Pools

There are lots of reasons to come to Keystone in the summer–whitewater rafting, biking, canoeing, fishing, the list goes on! But sometimes you just want to kick back in a great pool and enjoy the mountain views.

Once again, we’ve put in the hard work of figuring out what the best five pools are in Keystone. It was a tough job, but someone had to do it.

(And for when you’re not relaxing in the pool, check out our discounts page. Guests of SCMR can receive discounts on many activities, including whitewater rafting, fishing, biking, spa services and more!)

SCMR Presents: The Top 5 Pools in Keystone

Screen Shot 2016-06-27 at 2.18.42 PMTaking the top spot yet again is Dakota Lodge. It’s in the heart of River Run Village and features the largest, year-round heated pool in the entire resort. Not to mention, there are also two oversized hot tubs. The icing on the cake? The spectacular slope views featuring Keystone Mountain. If you stay at Dakota, you can snag one of our properties that overlook the pool so you can watch family and friends from the balcony.

Screen Shot 2016-06-27 at 2.18.49 PMSecond on the list is The Springs. When it comes to being kid-friendly, this complex has truly outdone itself. Not only is there an outdoor pool with a waterfall and slide, there’s a media room, indoor play area, wading pool with sprayers, fire pit and shared grill area. On top of all that, there’s also a hot tub that is perfect for adults while the kids splash around in the pool. We have several properties in this building, but the star of summer of is Unit #8811 with its poolside patio.

Screen Shot 2016-06-27 at 2.18.57 PMNo. 3 on the list is Settler’s Creek. Their clubhouse (aka Minnie’s Cabin) puts all their amenities in a centralized location. The beautiful pool features a spacious deck with lots of seating, and there are two hot tubs. Next to the pool is Minnie’s Cabin featuring a pool table, a wet bar for entertaining, a large flat screen TV and shower and restroom facilities. And the shared grill area is right outside with extra seating. With everything you need within a few feet of each other, it’s no wonder this one made the list.

Screen Shot 2016-06-27 at 2.19.06 PMComing in at No. 4 is The Timbers. One of the more exclusive buildings in the resort, this complex offers great amenities with a touch of luxury. The pool is surrounded by tall pines lending to a secluded feel. The swim-in/swim-out feature is a nice touch if there’s a chill in the air. Additionally, there’s a shared hot tub with a waterfall, grill area with seating and an outdoor fire pit.

Screen Shot 2016-06-27 at 2.19.13 PMAnd coming in at the fifth spot is Tennis Townhomes. This complex is on the north side of Highway 6 just as you come into Keystone from the west. This location lends a quiet and secluded feel to the outdoor pool while also offering wide views of the surrounding mountains.  There’s also an indoor hot tub with large windows and a sauna.

Introducing an Uncompromising Standard of Cleanliness

The Ivory White Bedding Program

Ivory Bedding Program

We’re excited to announce our latest endeavor, the Ivory White Bedding program! This program not only adds a sophisticated look to a property, it also features an uncompromising level of cleanliness.

But before we discuss our high quality upgrades, here’s a brief overview of our standard linen program: Our standard linens are light, breathable microfiber and are comparable to the linens that our major competitors use, however, SCMR rotates old bed linens and towels out of service on a 3-year cycle, whereas our competitors use a 5 to 6-year cycle.

Then, in 2014, a long-time client suggested that we consider a premium line of linens. Since then we rolled out our Ultra-Premium Linen program. These linens rival those of The Four Seasons, featuring extra soft, oversized towels and high quality bed linens with a subtle satin stripe pattern for a touch of elegance.

With the success of Ultra-Premium Linen program, we began researching the feasibility of an all-white option for bedding. Many high-end hotel chains have switched to this type of service, and it not only adds a touch of luxury, but also gives guests peace of mind because the duvet cover is freshly laundered for each new reservation.

For several months we spent time visiting hotels and figuring out how a property management company could take on a similar program with properties spread out across a resort. We also examined various duvets and duvet covers to determine the best option for SCMR standards.

In the winter of 2015, the bed linens were chosen and the Ivory White Bedding Program was born.

The Ivory White Bedding program showcases a soft, white-striped duvet cover with a medium thick, high quality down alternative duvet. The duvet cover will be removed after each guest stay and replaced with a freshly laundered duvet cover. The entire bed will be made with fresh white linens for each new arrival. This is an uncompromising and industry leading standard of cleanliness.

As a small company in the vacation rental business we’re always in need of quality employees. Managing vacation rentals in a resort town means we must abide by the demands of our customers, namely vacation-goers. And when the high season hits, we carry the largest number of employees. When the low seasons come around, we shrink down to a core set of employees that have stepped up and proven their value during the high season.Working in a resort town has its benefits, for example not everyone prefers to work nine to five year-round. Perhaps you’re looking to work only half the year so you can spend the rest of the year traveling, going to school or writing that novel. Or maybe you love the great outdoors. Spend part of the year hard at work and the rest of it hiking and camping your way through mountain ranges. Intrigued?Well, as it turns out, we are hiring.Below is a list of positions we’re hiring for as of February 2016. For an updated list, visit our website and look for Now Hiring graphic next to the list of positions.
  • Vacation Planner: You’re a Reservation Specialist and speak with guests and clients every day. You help guests find the right property and assist them before, during and after their stays. You input reservations, answer phones, answer emails, make keys and complete other office-related tasks.
  • Housekeeping: You help get properties ready for guests by cleaning, stocking supplies and making up beds. This is a detailed job and very fast-paced, and you need to access to reliable transportation so you can drive from property to property.
  • Laundry Technician: You operate machinery that washes and dries linens, and then you fold those same linens. We manage around 115 properties, so a lot of bed linens and towels come through our laundry facility. This job requires great organizational skills and the ability to work at maximum efficiency.

Special Discount for Wedding Parties

Destination weddings make for fantastic memories and stunning photos. Weddings in Keystone are no exception. All four seasons offer their own unique backdrop, and the beautiful mountainscape is always present. If you’re considering Keystone for your nuptials, you may have found that some property management companies offer wedding packages. These packages range from full, all-inclusive wedding services to simply a hall for the wedding day with lodging for the wedding party. What’s not missing from these wedding packages is a high markup on the cost of these specialized services. Even if there’s a discount on the front-end, there are usually fees on the back-end. And when you do the math on the total cost you find out you paid a premium for bundling. What SCMR Offers On your special day we’re happy to assist by offering a 10% discount on the nightly rate for lodging for you and your wedding party. No, we won’t be handling the entire wedding, nor can we offer a hall for the exchange of vows. But we also won’t be charging any extra fees for taking care of these things. Instead you simply get a discount! How it Works
  • Contact us by phone or email to let us know the date of your wedding and the names of the bride and groom.
  • We’ll create a promotional code specific to your wedding and then email you a flyer with all the details.
  • Simply send the flyer to your guests before they make their reservations.
  • Reserve your stay online at our website and enter the promo code during booking or, if you prefer, speak with one of our friendly Vacation Planners by phone and tell them the promo code.
Celebrate! Now you can rest easy knowing you and your guests have your lodging squared away for your beautiful Keystone wedding. And that may be reason enough to start some of your celebrations a little early. We look forward to hosting you on your special day, or maybe we’ll be hosting a friend or family member. Please share this information with anyone who might be interested. And remember to visit our website for the lowest rates year-round. As a matter of fact, if you find a comparable property for a lower nightly rate and can provide us with clear evidence, we’ll beat the price by 10%.To read the fine print associated with the SCMR Wedding Promotional Code, please read the entire article here

The Keystone Top 5: Hot Tubs

People come to Keystone for the nation’s best skiing, but a good soak in a hot tub is not far behind on their list of reasons for choosing a mountain vacation. There’s really nothing better than soaking in a hot tub after a long day of winter adventures with snowflakes falling all around.

SCMR has put in the hard work of figuring out what the best five hot tubs are in Keystone. It was a tough job, but someone had to do it.

The Keystone Top 5: Hot Tubs

No. 1 on the list is Dakota Lodge. This complex features two of the largest hot tubs in all of Keystone, not to mention the largest pool too. It’s in the heart of River Run Village so you’re steps from shopping, restaurants and local festivities, plus it’s next to Dercum Square that features an ice rink during the winter and a miniature golf course during the summer. Throw in an absolute stunning view of the slopes and you’ve got the number one hot tub in Keystone.

Second on the list is Chateaux DuMont. Each property in this French-inspired complex features its own private hot tub. Although running through the cold can be invigorating, after a long day you might want to just walk the few steps from the living room so you can soak those worn out muscles quickly. Plus, there’s no standing in a nearby lobby trying to look busy as you wait on a hot tub to clear out. Here at Chateaux DuMont your hot tub is always waiting just for you.

Coming in third we have The Springs. This hot tub made the list because of the entire set up with amenities at The Springs. Not only is there a hot tub, but there’s also a heated pool with a slide and waterfall, a splash area with water sprayers, a grill area and an outdoor fire pit for making s’mores. Sit back and soak those muscles while the rest of your party makes use of the other amenities.

Fourth on the list are the hot tubs at Red Hawk Lodge. Here you have the benefit of beautiful views of the main River Run slope and you’re on the edge of the village so you’re not in the center of the crowds. There’s also a pool, shared fitness facilities and a steam room. If you can get someone to cook and serve you a steak from the outdoor grill you’ll be all set.

And coming in at the fifth spot is the spacious hot tub for the Ski Tip Townhomes. Located centrally within the complex, this oversized hot tub has a feeling of privacy with a surrounding fence but you still have beautiful views. There are changing rooms and restrooms right next to it so no need to worry about walking around outside in wet clothes.
