Golf In Summit County

Golf enthusiasts have several options when choosing where to hit the links in Summit County.

Below are the top five courses in Summit County.

KEYSTONE

There are two golf courses in Keystone, The River Course and the Keystone Ranch Course.

The River Course is in West Keystone just off of Highway 6 and is open for breakfast, lunch and golf après, and there’s a bar. Serving a wide variety of fare including burgers, sandwiches and salads, as well as offering indoor and outdoor seating, this restaurant is sure to appeal to many travelers. The first nine holes wind around Snake River, while the last nine holes journey through a beautiful lodgepole pine forest. The 71-par course also features water hazards, various bunkers, and jaw-dropping elevation changes, with each hole having five tees to suit golfers of different abilities.

The Keystone Ranch Course is further south and features an authentic steakhouse set in a 1930s homestead. Serving separate menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner, this restaurant serves high quality cuisine in an atmosphere of rustic elegance. If you’re looking for a traditional Scottish course, Keystone Ranch Course is steeped in traditional features. The 72-par course is surrounded by breathtaking peaks and meanders its way around a lake and through a mountain valley. It also features plenty of bunkers and some slight elevation changes.

SILVERTHORNE

The Raven Golf Club is often hailed as one of the best in the country. It’s just off of I-70 and is designed to offer a number of challenges but is instantly playable for a range of golfers. Along the course you’ll find trout lakes, picturesque creeks, aspen and pine forests, impeccable greens, and rolling fairways. All of this is framed by the 13,000 foot snow-capped peaks in the background.

COPPER MOUNTAIN

The Copper Creek Golf Course is perfect for amateurs and professionals alike. The course has 18 holes with 70 par. Not only will you tee off with the 10 Mile Range as your backdrop, but you’ll also experience the highest teeing-off box in North America. At a whopping 9,863 feet, you might worry that you’ll lose your nerve, but don’t, because at a higher altitude your ball will travel further than usual!

BRECKENRIDGE

The Breckenridge Golf Course features three championship nine-hole golf courses and is the only place in the world where golfers can enjoy a 27-hole Jack Nicklaus-designed course. The original nine is the Bear, which was opened in 1985, closely followed by the Beaver in 1987. The 27-hole course was then completed in 2001 when the Elk opened, a course that offers the most elevation change of all the courses. At 9,300+ elevation, the course boasts 360-degree views of the Colorado Rockies, as well as dense woodlands, wetlands, and grassland.
