Enjoy These Keystone Local Events On Your Summit County Vacation
Keystone is one of the most popular towns in Summit County, offering beautiful views of nature, tempting restaurants to sample, unique shops to explore, and much more. In addition to the permanent attractions, you can also enjoy all kinds of fun Keystone events on your next visit!
Here are a few of the top events happening throughout the year. Try to book your trip so you can attend at least one!
There’s no better combination than bacon and bourbon! This event, which usually takes place at the end of June, is easily one of the most popular happenings in town, and there’s no question why. Of course, there’s plenty of bacon and bourbon for you to enjoy during this event, but that’s not all! You can come out to enjoy live music, participate in the bacon eating contest, and attend the Best Bacon Awards at the end. There are plenty of activities for the kids here as well, including crafts, bingo, face painting, and more!
In mid-July, you can visit Keystone to attend the annual Wine and Jazz Festival. Hundreds of wines are offered during this event, so there’s nearly guaranteed to be something for every palate. Of course, while you sip your wine, you can relax and listen to some talented local musicians play exciting jazz music that will get your toes tapping!
The Keystone River Run Village Art Festival takes place in mid-July as well, so you may be able to knock out both this event and the Wine and Jazz Festival on the same trip! During this event, more than 80 artists from across the United States come to show off their beautiful, handcrafted pieces. You’ll find everything from paintings and ceramics to photographs, jewelry, mixed media pieces, and more. Simply browse the selection or pick out a creation to purchase and take home. Best of all, admission to this event is totally free!
Celebrating 26 years in 2023, the Bluegrass and Beer Festival is an August staple. As one of Colorado’s longest-running beer festivals, this event is sure to please! Choose from one of the seasonal brew selections available, or if beer isn’t your thing, try a hard seltzer or a cider. You’ll also experience over a dozen bluegrass acts throughout the festival, so be sure to bring your dancing shoes! As with many of the other events we’ve mentioned, there will be a zone completely dedicated to kids, offering fun games, crafts, and more.
While this celebration takes place in September, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to Germany in October when you come to Oktoberfest! Adults can enjoy plenty of fall-inspired craft beer varieties, live music in the heart of River Run Village, German polka dancers, stein hoisting contests, and more. The kids even have their own celebration with Kinderfest! Enjoy a truly unique festival and spend a wonderful fall day with your friends and family.
