This was perfect for our group of family and friends! We all fit comfortably, it was in close proximity to the venue we were attending, and it was just as described.Anonymous from Johnstown - Posted: 9/9/2024
We are glad to hear you enjoyed your vacation in Keystone! This property has a great location and we are happy to hear you thought the same. Have a great day!Summit County Mountain Retreats staff
This place is nice but I wouldn’t stay here again in summer.
Pros:
- Spacious, clean, cozy feel
- Well-stocked kitchen
- Baby changing table, extra towels, etc.
- Summit County Mtn Retreats has incredible staff. Katelyn especially did an excellent job of making a situation right. That alone makes me recommend it, or at the very least, a property owned by this company.
Cons:
- No a/c, super hot the whole time (we stayed in August)
- Backs to the highway, so you can’t open windows because it’s super noisy.
- Amenities (pool, fitness room) don’t open until 8 am. Super frustrating if you like to get a workout in early in the morning.
- HOA Manager didn’t open the fitness room on time and was extremely rude
Overall, it was an okay stay. The condo itself is very nice, but its location in the building and the lack of a/c means it’s probably best suited for a winter ski trip.Anonymous from Centennial - Posted: 8/24/2024
We're happy to see that you enjoyed the condo itself and the service provided by our staff members. We apologize for the inconveniences that you experienced and will be discussing this with the HOA. Thank you for your feedback!Summit County Mountain Retreats staff
Our family stayed at this location and it was a total of 14 of us. In terms of space it accommodated us. But unfortunately throughout the stay we noticed many things at the property that made us uncomfortable. It was not clean and had leftover items from previous stays. There was hair on the ground of every bathroom. There were used feminine products underneath the couch. In one of the bedrooms there was someone’s shorts left behind. As mentioned above it accommodated for the number of people in our group but was dirty and made the group uncomfortable.Anonymous from Thornton - Posted: 7/18/2024
Thank you for sharing your much-valued feedback with us. We’re extremely gutted to learn that you did not have a positive experience! This is an uncommon instance as the vast majority of our guests trust us with their stay and enjoy their experience with us to the fullest. We’re extremely alarmed to hear that you felt cleanliness wasn’t up to par. Our attention to detail is usually exceptional but we apologize profusely for missing the mark this time! We treat cleanliness as one of our highest priorities, especially amid such a global outbreak where guests are all the more concerned about their overall well-being and safety. Taking a cue from your review, we will embark on taking a series of steps that will help resolve this concern of yours.Summit County Mountain Retreats staff
The condo is set up for 4 families/2 of those with kids. Dated is all that can be said. It needs TLC and maybe some remodel. There was NO ski locker key nor drain plugs for the kitchen sink. The kitchen faucet was loose, the dishwasher top tray was not right. Fridge was missing a door bin. Freezer missing a tray. Plenty of plates/glasses/silverware. Bowls, containers and skillets could be improved. Wall plugs were few (built before cell phones) and some needed attention. Lighting needs attention as well. Bathroom/kitchen drawers are becoming worn from use. Most of the sinks drained very, very slow. The hot tub was nice and hot. No pool towels were available. Very limited on room towels since pool didn't have any. A couple of beds need more comfortable mattresses. Everything else was good. Nice size dining table. Access to building/parking was fine. Friendly maintenance staff was VERY helpful. Location is very good for price. *I would recommend this property with upfront explanations of condition. *We were satisfied with condition, but it could use improvement. *It was clean but had a worn feel.Anonymous from Phillipsburg - Posted: 3/2/2024

This is a terrific rental in a great location. Very spacious for a large group! Unit was a little dirty when we arrived and they gave us an old code to get in which was inconvenient. However, they did respond quickly.Anonymous from St Michael - Posted: 1/30/2024

Space was great for a family ski vacation with multiple families. Lots of bedding options and bathrooms to not be on top of each other. Kitchen was well stocked with lots of dishes and utensils. Several mattresses could use an upgrade and were not very comfortable. Loved that grocery, liquor store and restaurant was conveniently just downstairs from unit to walk to.Anonymous from Georgetown - Posted: 12/29/2023

I stay in Keystone every year and have stayed in this building before. The master shower had very little pressure so I showered upstairs. The granite tiled kitchen counter was missing a tile. Both sinks in the master wouldn’t drain. A piece of the master shower seal is pulled out and lying in the shower. The trim under the master bath was in poor repair. We didn’t have enough washcloths for the 5 people staying. We couldn’t get the temperature cooler at night in the bedrooms so opened windows each of 5 nights. We turned the thermostat down to 60 and the bedrooms were 73 degrees all night. The carpet and floors were clean. Washer and dryer are full size and nice. I’ve stayed at several of the units at this location and this one needs some maintenance but the others didn’t have the big washer and dryer. I didn’t contact management regarding these issues during my stay.Anonymous - Posted: 12/23/2023
We had a wonderful experience. Loved the property and had plenty of room for family of 9. Great location to drive to river run village. Takes about 2 min if that. My mom is handicap and they allowed an early check in to accommodate her. Responded promptly also!!Anonymous from Colorado Springs - Posted: 12/18/2023

We loved the location, size, cleanliness, single code keypad entry, 4 BR 4 baths. If there was a 2nd parking place included, new grout in bathrooms, a larger outdoor seating, and new mattresses, we would give this 5 stars.Anonymous from SUN PRAIRIE, WI - Posted: 8/18/2023

We had a wonderful time. We had a family reunion and rented a couple units near each other. It was a perfect setting. There was plenty of room and was very comfortable. We had 4 generations and there were many things to do and see in the area for everyone to enjoy.Anonymous from Las Vegas - Posted: 7/16/2023

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The living room was a great place to gather for our large family (9 of us...all adults with one toddler) with plenty of seating. Check in and check out was very convenient and easy. We had no problems with our stay but I know it would have been very easy to reach out with any questions or concerns. There were plenty of dishes and pots and pans to meet our needs in the kitchen. It is a good location as we were easily able to go to Breckinridge, Silverthorne, Lake Dillon, and our adult kids took an evening to go to Denver. Lots of good hikes and good shopping within good distance! This was a very comfortable, clean, and budget friendly place to stay. I would recommend this to any family and hope we have the opportunity to stay here again.Anonymous from Mt. Pleasant - Posted: 6/7/2023

We enjoyed our stay in the rental. The place was very clean!!! There needs to be some things fixed but over all it was a good stay. The had plenty of beds to sleep on. The kitchen is very small. Definitely needs some new frying pans as we did ask for a new one. The one we had was flaking off in our food. One of the upstairs tubs drained super slow so when showering we were standing in about and inch or two of water. Those are minimal issues. We hope to be back.Anonymous from Festus - Posted: 4/27/2023
Thank you for your honest review and feedback, I can now see that these concerns raised by this guest have all been rectified!Summit County Mountain Retreats staff
Our group had a wonderful time at this Gateway VRBO. Communication with management was truly outstanding before, during, and after our stay to ensure everything was just right. It felt like VIP treatment. The location was perfect with shuttle service to both Keystone base resorts, the Steep cafe/bar downstairs, the gear rentals and storage downstairs, and pool/hot tub. The room were all sizeable and clean. We plan to stay again. The setup, location, and service can't be beat.Anonymous from Summerville - Posted: 3/16/2023

We spent two nights with our family (adult children and 3 grandkids). It was just the right size for our family with a room & bathroom for each couple (4 couples total). We walked to a shopping area and road the gondola up the mountain and had a drink in the cafe area at the top. Popped into amine shops after we came back down. It was a lovely area and the vacation rental was quite comfortable! There was a big table where we played games in the evening. It was great!!Anonymous from Fort Collins - Posted: 12/16/2022

Eight of us were very comfortable in this four bedroom townhouse. Plenty of bathrooms plenty of beds. It was adequately stocked however there were no potholders, Salt or a simple baking sheet. Three things I would’ve thought were common for any kitchen. When I called the management office on Saturday morning they said they would get potholders and salt over as soon as they were able. It never arrived by the time we checked out Sunday morning.Anonymous from Littleton - Posted: 10/18/2022

The unit was perfect for the 6 of us, although the unit can accommodate many more people. We liked the fact that each of the 4 bedrooms had at least 1 queen sized bed in the room as we had adults in each room. You can hear cars on route 6 with the windows open. The only minor items that need to be addressed included broken blinds in the master bedroom, ice machine and the dryer. We used the public dryer available for a nominal charge. We really liked the unit and would rent it again.Anonymous from River Edge - Posted: 6/30/2022

We are very familiar with the Gateway Condo building. Have stayed in several different units within the building for about 10 years. Works well for my daughter who uses a power wheelchair.
first time in this unit. Very clean. nice decour, comfortable furniture. More than a few irritating mechanical issues that were brought up with management company, but don't think fault of owner. However those issues did not interrupt our wonderful time.
accessibility benefits
-easy parking close to doors
-free resort shuttle bus with lift
-unit had good open space, 2 bdms down, large doorways, large downstairs bathrooms. easy to use a portable hoyer lifting system for transferring and toileting.
-no roll in shower, HOWEVER, private accessible shower in bathroom on main lobby floor.

The condo was as advertised with plenty of space, clean and well appointed rooms, and very convenient access to the River Run area. We also enjoyed the amenities and shops within the building. Our only complaints would be: the parking garage filled, forcing us to hunt around for a spot outside despite being guaranteed a spot in the garage; and also the host graciously gave us late checkout, but our access code stopped working at the normal checkout time which got us stuck outside of the building. Otherwise great stay, would recommend.Anonymous from loveland - Posted: 2/8/2022
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the space and amenities of the condo. We reached out to the HOA of the building, who enforces parking at the condo, and they stated they are working to ensure that guests and residence have adequate parking. We are grateful that you chose our company.Summit County Mountain Retreats staff
The location and amenities are great. It's walking distance to the River Run Gondola. The management company was very responsive and professional. The property needs a deep clean and some maintenance though. The rug in the living room was not swept. There was a bloody handprint on the fireplace glass. There are several light bulbs that are burned out. One of the upstairs bathroom sinks drained very slowly, which made it gross pretty quickly. The dryer did not work at all and blew a circuit breaker. These are generally minor inconveniences though, and I would recommend this space to friends.Anonymous from Whitehouse - Posted: 1/19/2022

Overall, we had an enjoyable time and the rental was satisfactory. Apparently the thermostat was "set" to 70° and could not be altered. At night it felt a little warm in the rooms and not as comfortable as desired. If a setting is desired, then an option to have it cooler at night is recommended. Lobby area and hallways were also too warm in my opinion. A lower setting would make a nice difference.Anonymous from Knoxville - Posted: 12/21/2021
Thank you for sharing your much-valued feedback with us. We are so sorry that the heat in the unit was too warm for your group. Unfortunately, this property does not have air conditioning but this is not uncommon in Summit County. We do provide a fan in each bedroom closet to help with the summer heat. We always recommend opening up a window to let in that cool mountain air, it really helps cool the unit off. Sometimes the heat from the building can warm up the unit itself even if the heat is shut off for the property. Our staff has confirmed that the heat is functioning properly. We apologize for the inconvenience this caused!Summit County Mountain Retreats staff
Nice condo and location near the Keystone Resort. We had 12 guests and the sleeping arrangements worked well. However, the common areas/kitchen were a bit tight for all guests (6 chairs at the table, about 6-7 sofa seats). The kitchen was decently stocked with pots, serving bowls, and china. One parking space is available per reservation.Anonymous from franktown - Posted: 11/2/2021
We are thrilled to have you as part of the SCMR family! Thank you for sharing your kind words with us. It means the world to us and to our entire team! Thanks for giving us a perfect rating and for recommending our rental to other travelers. Take care !Summit County Mountain Retreats staff
We stayed here with 2 other families and it worked out very well. Lots of sleeping options. Very clean, and had all that we needed!
2 small challenges. First, dining. While there was sleeping for 15 people, the dining table only fit 6. That said, we made it work with the bar seats and coffee table. Second, no A/C. I know that most of summit county residences do not have A/C due to very moderate summer temps, but even with windows open and fans running, we were still warm.
That said, these were truly small issues for us and we enjoyed the place greatly!Anonymous - Posted: 8/17/2021
We are glad to hear that these guests were able to enjoy their stay in this clean and spacious unit. We hope to host them again in the future!Summit County Mountain Retreats staff
Very enjoyable stay the area is great. Upstairs rooms were hot at night and the fans didn't work. We had to open all the doors and windows to get comfortable.Anonymous from Colorado Springs - Posted: 6/15/2021
It is our goal to help our guests enjoy their stay and we are thrilled to hear that you thought the area was great! We understand that it may seem unusual that the properties do not have A/C, but that is extremely common in the mountains since we only have a few weeks of warm weather. It’s disheartening to hear that you were not entirely comfortable during your stay, and we apologize that the fans were not working. Had we known about that, we would have gladly taken care of this right away by sending maintenance. We could have also delivered more box fans to the property.Thank you again for your review, and we look forward to seeing you soon!Summit County Mountain Retreats staff
The Gateway condo was large enough for our family with plenty of bathrooms. It was close to shopping, restaurants and skiing. We were happy to be able to stay together. We had a couple of issues that were taken care of right away. We would recommend staying here by other families. We would go back again. They made getting there easy with emails with map and the access code.Anonymous from Tonganoxie - Posted: 2/28/2021
This is a very nice and spacious condo. The only issue was the faucet is on backwards in one of the showers. That was confusing. Great location and very nice inside. Also liked the covered balcony.Anonymous from Overland Park - Posted: 10/2/2020
Centrally located. We had a great time.Anonymous - Posted: 8/15/2020
Overall very satisfied with our visit to Keystone. The kitchen is extremely well supplied. The upstairs bedrooms with a queen and bunk beds is perfect for the kids. Close to the bike/walking path which was great. Short drive to restaurants and the grocery store.
Slight inconvenience with a broken refrigerator, however the management company was very responsive and fair in how they handled the matter. As mentioned in other reviews, the unit faces the highway so the noise level should be considered.Anonymous from Centennial - Posted: 7/1/2020
We stayed at the condo with a group during our kids' ski race weekend. The condo fit our group well - the bedrooms are laid out well for families and there was ample space. For racers, be aware that there are two "bases" and the racing venue may be from the other base (close, but not within walking distance). My only complaint is the check-in process and parking information. It's overly complicated: get an email to log onto website which tells you to wait for a text; get a text to check your email that tells you to log onto the website which says to wait for a text etc.... The parking information is also not clear or entirely accurate.Anonymous - Posted: 2/12/2020
Our group of 13 (4 adults and 9 teenagers) fit nicely in this 4 bedroom, 4 bath condo. Overall, the unit, which is a bit dated, was clean and accommodated our needs. The only suggestions I have would be to supply an all purpose cleaner to wipe down kitchen counters and provide more linens. We had more pillows than pillow cases, and we didn’t have enough sheets for the pullout couch. We really did enjoy our stay at #5040 and skiing Keystone.Anonymous from Katy - Posted: 1/5/2020
Really enjoyed our time! The place was great and would come again.Anonymous from Parker - Posted: 12/18/2019
We stayed here for a girls weekend with 10 people. We had plenty of room for everyone. The location was fantastic for walking to all bars, restaurants, shops, hikes etc. The only slight complaint we had was the code for the garage didn't work, the door codes to get into the building stopped working and had to be reset. We heard this from many people staying there so I think it was a problem with the whole building. Also we were there on off season so we figured out that we could park behind the building, everywhere else you could not leave your car overnight except for 1 spot in the garage. With a condo that sleeps 14 (we had 4 cars) it seems like there should be more than one parking space. It wasn't a big deal for us because there weren't many people there but if it was a busy time parking would have definitely been a problem. Also the kitchen was very minimally stocked. Would have been nice to have basics such as cooking oil, aluminum foil, can opener etc. Overall the condo was nice and served its purpose. We would stay there again but a few small things could make it better.Anonymous from Aurora - Posted: 9/24/2019
Great place and very comfortable.Anonymous from Berthoud - Posted: 9/15/2019
On our way to another destination, stopped by for one night. Easy to find, easy check in and check out. Plenty of room for five golfing buddies. Not important to us, but the view was not of the slopes as advertised. Also, not enough coffee for 8 people in the morning.Anonymous - Posted: 8/5/2019
We recently had a family reunion here with 8 adults and 7 kids and the property was great! The configuration of the rooms worked well (it was a little tight but we figured it out) and the location was far enough away from most of the traffic of Silverthorne yet close enough to anything we wanted to do. The noise from the hwy was pretty loud, especially to sleep with the windows open and the beds were okay, except one that was really bad. Other than that, we had a great time and would return again someday!Anonymous from Reno - Posted: 7/9/2019
Spacious, convenient location, kids loved the pool & hot tub!!Anonymous from Pueblo - Posted: 7/9/2019
Home was clean and was exactly like the photos online. Location was close to
shopping and other areas of interest. We visited in June and it was less crowded
than during peak ski season.Anonymous from PRINCETON - Posted: 6/29/2019
Perfect accommodations for our family. The only negative experience was the 3 of our grandchildren developed a rash after swimming in the pool. Everything else was wonderful.Anonymous from Norfolk - Posted: 6/3/2019
The experience was okay. Keystone Ski Resort closed down the week prior to our arrival. I realize SCMR has nothing to do with that, but it was a bummer. The unit was nice. Fit everyone that we had. The pool and hot tub were closed the first 2.5 days we were there (out of 5 days) so the use of amenities was lacking. Everything worked fine and it was clean. The overall price of the unit, with the resort being closed and the lack of amenities for the time that we were there made this a very sub-par rental.Anonymous from Denver - Posted: 4/22/2019
The unit itself was nice but the condo's were much older than we expected. The pool didn't look as nice as the pics. We stayed two nights and the second night the door to the pool was dead bolted so we weren't able to use it again. Our group was there to just relax and take a mom break which the unit was great for. Everything was clean and in good condition.Anonymous from Parker - Posted: 4/16/2019
Place is well laid out. 4 bedrooms each with bathroom. 2 sleeper sofas, 1 in main lounge, 2nd in upstairs common area between bedrooms. Upstairs sleeper sofa is broken.Anonymous - Posted: 3/24/2019

We met for a family gathering with 14 people. This place was great. It was an easy walk to the base of Keystone. We had everything we needed in the condo. The management company was easy to work with. The kids had fun at the pool. The only negative was the windows face the highway so it was loud at night because we needed windows open to stay cool. Overall we had a great stay.Anonymous from Edwards - Posted: 7/31/2018

We very much enjoyed our time at this property. We had 3 families, 2 of which had kids and the unitlaid out well for our group. There was a sitting space for adults and the loft space was great for kids. The unit is walking distance to the Gondola and village so we didn't have to get in the car.
The only negative for this property is that it faces highway 6, so in the summer if you have the windows open you hear the cars and trucks going by at all hours. Never the less, we would definitely stay here again.Anonymous from Eagle - Posted: 6/12/2018
Thanks for a great stay. The unit is well kept and comfortable. The condo is very spacious - our 10 person family never felt cramped. It is a short walk to the gondola (10 minutes) or a quick hop on the shuttle.
We had zero issues checking in/out.
Thanks for an awesome vacation!Anonymous from Bentonville - Posted: 3/26/2018
Walking Distance to Keystone resort, which means all bus lines are close, restaurants, bars, kid friendly activities and of course skiing is close by. Hot tub and pool are on the 1st floor along with a ski rental shop and an Aveda Salon and Spa... No need to drive anywhere, come here and park your car!Anonymous - Posted: 2/27/2018

We were at Keystone for a conference. There were 12 adults that stayed in this condo. With this many adults, the space was rather tight. The top bunk beds are not made for adults. The pullout couch in the hallway makes that space tight. The bathrooms ratio was nice. The master bedroom was a great space. The TV in the master bedroom should have been in the living room. Loved having the Keurig and the coffee pot. We enjoyed the pool and the hot tub. The room was not cleaned while we were there. The restaurant was open while we were there. We wished that the store had been open. There are good restaurants nearby. We enjoyed our time in Keystone.Anonymous from Denver - Posted: 10/30/2017

This unit worked well for what we were looking for, a place big enough to fit four families for a weekend of fun. The unit needs some care, I thought it seemed a bit pricy for the condition and location. We faced Hwy 7 and there was no air flow and when the windows were open at night the noice from the road was loud. The electric plugs were weird, all the lights and things kept falling out. the glass on the fireplace fell out and the tile in the bathroom is starting to look moldy. but overall the kitchen was well stocked with supplies, only 6 chairs for the table, so eating in shifts was required.Anonymous from Arvada - Posted: 7/6/2017
Several fans are provided which should be used to create a cross breeze in the condo. This is explained in the instructions that we provide guests. This is only needed for a couple of weeks out of the year as the highest summer temps are only 78 degrees.Summit County Mountain Retreats staff
We had an excellent time, and anything we asked for was taken care of right away. The place is perfect for a large family or families getting together. We really stayed in and still had space for the adults and a separate space for the kids. Thank you for the wonderful weekend!Anonymous from Grand Junction - Posted: 7/4/2017
Almost everything about our stay at Gateway 5040 was perfect. The condo is spotless, large, and well-equipped. The location was wonderful. Our family group of 15 had plenty of room. We did call the office about a couple of issues and while they were not fixed, we managed OK anyway. I would recommend staying here

The location of the rental was very close to the resort. We were able to walk back and forth instead of waiting every time for a shuttle. The room was very spacious and well laid out. Check in and out were very easy and stress free.Anonymous - Posted: 2/28/2017
I surprised my boyfriend for this 30th birthday with a snowboarding trip including his closest friends. There were 11 of us total in the condo, and we had a wonderful time. The property was beautiful, spacious, and well-maintained. The kitchen was wonderfully stocked and all the linens were included too. I would highly recommend this property for any group. Logistics were coordinated well in advance and our stay was problem-free! The condo is one shuttle stop away from River Run, and an easy 7 minute walk back from the slopes. I would highly recommend this property to all of my friends and relatives!Anonymous from The Colony - Posted: 2/22/2017

Loved staying at the Gateway--#5040. Management company made everything a breeze and we loved how many beds & rooms there were. The whole gateway was a little dated by this property was super clean and a great experience. Would happily stay here again.Anonymous from Highlands Ranch - Posted: 12/19/2016
The place was excellent for snowboarding/skiing a walk away. There was a shuttle bus available, but we only used it once. The walk wasn't that bad at all and we had a great time!Anonymous - Posted: 12/7/2016
It was well maintained and located close to activities. Upstairs bedrooms had bunk beds along with queen beds, which is a great setup for a family of four.Anonymous from Aurora - Posted: 9/7/2016
