Red Hawk Lodge #2313

I am writing to share our dissatisfaction with several significant issues we encountered during our stay at the penthouse (South Tower, Unit 2313). Unfortunately, our experience was far below the expectations for a premium rental.

1. Broken Elevator: The elevator in the South Wing was out of service for the entire week of our stay, which was extremely inconvenient given that we were staying on the 5th floor. We called management multiple times to check on the elevator situation, but we were only told what we wanted to hear, with no clear or honest updates provided. Each time, we were reassured that concierge assistance would be available if needed. However, when we called on the last day to request concierge help with our luggage, no one showed up, and no one followed up to confirm the assistance we had been promised. This lack of reliability and communication made the situation even more frustrating.
2. Overwhelming Sewer Smell: Upon arrival, we were met with a strong sewer odor that was overwhelming and disappointing.
3. Broken Ice Maker: The refrigerator’s ice maker was not functioning, which added to the inconvenience during our stay.
4. No Hot Water in the Master Bathroom: The master shower lacked hot water throughout the stay, making showering uncomfortable and unacceptable for this type of rental.
5. Unclean Bedding: On the first day, we found hairs on the bedding, which raised hygiene concerns and left us very disappointed.

To say this was a terrible experience is an understatement. We selected this unit expecting a high-quality and comfortable stay, but these issues have significantly detracted from our time here.

Thank you for your review and feedback. We do apologize about the lack of an elevator during your stay, this is HOA managed and unfortunately they were not able to get it fixed until after your stay. We have also reviewed all other concerns and were not able to replicate any of the issues this guest has reported, but if guests ever experience issues during their stay, we are always more than happy to help!

We enjoyed our stay at this property. It's slightly larger than the normal 1BR/2Ba units we've stayed at within Keystone resort. While you do have to maneuver the dining table to a different area to keep the murphy bed down, it's not difficult.

Of specific note, we struggled with the hot water in the master bath. We did get that 100% fixed by asking for their senior tech to come out and diagnose the problem. He replaced the mixing cartridge within the shower valve and problem fixed! And fixed quickly. So great managerial response to our problem and request.

We would stay here again with a family of 2 adults and 2 teens. 5th floor unit is great for elevator priority.

Temp of the water in the master bath shower was often only Luke warm - the other bathroom did not have the same issue. Kitchen appliances could use an upgrade & a few more kitchen essentials would have been nice. Otherwise, everything was great

Overall loved the location but several concerns. Directions to garage parking were not posted clearly. We were on 5th floor yet elevator did not go to 5th and not clearly posted either. Dishwasher without cover panel so unable to use due to not knowing which button did what. Only one coffee pack so called for more. Need to go to the office off site to get them. Would be better customer service if on-site or brought to us.

Thank you for your review and feedback. This elevator has been fixed by the hoa, the dishwasher is also fixed, and we do supply the initial amount of coffee, but guest can also pick up more from our office located right here in Keystone!

Great unit. Very easy to walk back and forth to the lifts. Description was spot on. The property was clean and the management company was great. There is some maintenance that needs to be done, but we would stay there again.

Pros: the bed was very comfy, the place was clean and convenient to the gondola even with the construction of the new monstrosity.The team was very responsive to our complaint of the toaster not working and provided a replacement that day.
Cons: very poor selection of pots for cooking. Two big stockpots and one approx 2 qt pot and a few fry pans. Lots of pot lids but no matching pots. There is stuff in the cupboards that need to be discarded such as a rice cooker without a lid, a knife holder just taking up room. .

Location to River Run Village and gondola was just what we were looking for. This unit fit our family of three perfectly. We really appreciated the Murphy Bed for our teenage son. Very comfortable with all the amenities we were looking for. The property management company provided detailed instructions prior to arrival and everything was clearly communicated. For the most part the unit was clean and well maintained, but could use a good scrub. There was food on the walls next to the dining table and thick dust behind the bed.
Also, the hot water was luke warm in the master shower however both sinks had hot water. It seems the cartridge for the shower needs replacing. The lukewarm shower was disappointing, however the other bathroom shower did have hot water. This was a minor inconvenience and would not prevent us from renting this unit again as everything else was so nice.
Overall we enjoyed our stay here and hope to come back some day. Thank you!

Two nights so that a great old friend and I could grab a few more turns at the Legend before season's end. This fab little condo provided everything we needed and more. Plenty of space for us, decently provisioned kitchen for our breakfast. We made nightly use of the hot tub, steam sauna and the gas grill. Perfectly located. Very comfortable. Would go back in a second. Thanks all!!! Made our getaway unforgettable.

Nice penthouse location in great location near main Gondola. Unfortunately we misplaceded the room key and it was a mile walk each way in snow boots to get a replacement. Completely my fault but the supposedly hidden spare key wasn't in the lock box per thier plan. I tried to get them to bring a spare, but they claim they didn't have anyone to run key. Nice comfortable beds and enjoyed gas logs. Master TV wasn't hooked up properly, unable to use.

This is our second time staying at Red Hawk!First time booking through summit Condo was as expected! Only issue we had was we had two vehicles and were only allowed one parking space! Was told by summit management that we would have to park second vehicle off property at $60.00 a night! We went to a keystone resort employee and got a parking pass for the out side lot at no charge! At no time during our stay was the the garage or lot even close to full so I don’t see what the issue is! Makes me wonder if they don’t own the paid parking! Will book through keystone from now on for no hassle on a second vehicle! We have booked through keystone the 3 previous times and never had a Issue with parking! Other than this issue no problems at all! If you only have one vehicle by all means book through summit!

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Unforuntaely we do not manage the parking in Keystone for any properties or any paid lots. The HOA only allows us to issue one parking pass per rented unit. You got lucky and had a Keystone employee break the rules that the HOA enforces us to follow.

Excellent overall. The condo could have been a little cleaner. There were towels that were stained and a cheerios in the entryway bathroom. With that said, the location was great and we loved the condo and wish we owned it ourselves. Very cozy!

It is a beautiful place. We were celebrating our 35th anniversary so it was just perfect for the two of us. We visited a local cafe called Haywood Cafe. They were very kind and their service was excellent and the food was great. If anyone skis the condo is a premium place. It’s right by a ski lift right outside of the building. In the summer it is great as well off the beaten path of the road so it was quiet.
We did have a problem with the other condo building across from us that had a rowdy group of people and we could here them with our windows opened. But it wasn’t horrible. Windows had to be open otherwise it would get pretty stuffy. The ventilation in the rooms is my only complaint. If the windows and door aren’t open it is very hot and there wasn’t much air flow. More fans whether ceiling fan in the living area or a box fan for the living area would be very helpful.
Loved that it had pretty much everything we needed to cook with etc.

We had an amazing visit! The condo was extremely clean. It was fully equipped with all the amenities needed. Nice and quiet in the off-season (mid June), very clean, well-appointed, great bed and the pool and hot tub were very nice. Close to hiking trails, and if you get up early you can see Moose on the path behind the pool.

This unit was great...super comfortable, clean and a great location on the edge of River Run, super close to the gondola. However, the best part of this unit is the fact that there are hooks to hang your stuff everywhere. I think I literally counted 36 's awesome.

This place was perfect for our needs. We spent most of our time skiing, but it was a great place to cook meals and sleep. Loved having the second bathroom, too. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies, the bed was comfy and it was a great location.

The unit had everything we needed. It was clean when we arrived, however the rugs in the unit looked dirty and worn. It would be nice if there was a broom in the unit to use as much dirt comes in from going back and forth to the slopes and there is no way to get rid of it since, there is no maid service during your stay.

The place was very clean and in great shape. We loved the gorgeous views on the balcony. The bathrooms were a great size and the fireplace made it so cozy. The only thing is maybe a few more things to cook with in the kitchen. But all around, a great condo I would stay here again.
